This Math workbook is a starting point for any student who needs to start from the beginning to ensure a good score on the GRE, GMAT or SAT exams.

It’s an essential guide for brushing up on key math concepts in algebra, geometry and arithmetic. It can help you build up your problem-solving, deductive skills so you can apply this knowledge to any kind of question in Math that you’re faced with on the day of the test.

The Ultimate Math Refresher is a general primer for students who need a revision of math concepts and principles, so if you’re focusing on, for example, the GRE test, you’d need to complement your studying with a dedicated GRE Math book. While useful, this guide only brushes on the concepts that many test questions are based on, and it doesn’t actually provide you practice questions resembling those in the GRE test.

Nonetheless, the math concepts are presented in an easy to understand, clear way, which is essential for getting your test questions right.

You will learn strategies for tackling questions in Algebra, Arithmetic and Geometry and be able to use these tactics in a range of questions.

Unfortunately, the book does not contain any practice questions. It only covers math principles in theory so you get a solid knowledge of math fundamentals essential for these tests.

We recommend starting of with Lighthouse’s Math Refresher to brush up on your Math skills and then move onto a hands-on Math workbook that contains full-length practice questions specific to the test you’re taking.

Many students use the Math Refresher as a reference while studying practice questions with a book by different publishers. Some good examples include Nova’s GRE Math Prep Course, which includes a diagnostic test to assess your strengths and weaknesses and more than 530 practice questions, or the Official GRE Quantitative Reasoning Practice Questions Workbook, which features more than 150 real test questions with explanations.
